1. Who we are
Personal Notes is a notes product operated by Hasna Inc. (“we”, “us”). These terms cover the hosted service at personalnotes.ai, the Personal Notes apps, and the API. By creating an account or using the hosted service you agree to them.
2. Free local use
You can use Personal Notes on your own device without an account. In local mode your notes, recordings and transcripts stay on your device and are processed by the on-device speech model. Talk and instant streaming transcription are Personal Notes Pro features that run in the cloud (see “Cloud voice features” below). The open-source core is provided under its own license, which governs that code.
3. Accounts
The hosted service uses passwordless sign-in: we email you a one-time code, or, if you choose, you sign in with your Google account. Keep access to your email secure, and keep any API keys you create private. You are responsible for activity under your account. You must be old enough to form a contract where you live, and at least 13.
4. Your content
Your notes, recordings and transcripts are yours. You give us only the permission we need to store, sync, process and display them to you in order to run the service. We do not sell your content and we do not use it to train models.
5. Cloud voice features
Talk and cloud transcription are optional Personal Notes Pro features. When you use them, your audio is sent to our servers and to OpenAI, whose OpenAI GPT-Live models process it on our behalf to produce transcripts and responses. Audio is sent only while you use these features; local mode never uploads audio. AI output can be wrong; check anything important. Only record other people where you are legally allowed to, and get their consent where the law requires it.
6. Personal Notes Pro and credits
Personal Notes Pro costs $10 per month, billed in advance by Stripe, and renews automatically until you cancel. Each billing period includes 1,000 credits, which pay for cloud features such as instant transcription, Talk and hosted agent runs. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred. If we change the price, we will tell you before your next renewal and you can cancel first. Taxes may be added where required.
7. Cancelling
You can cancel at any time from “Manage billing” in the app, which opens the Stripe billing portal. Cancelling stops future renewals; you keep Personal Notes Pro until the end of the period you paid for. Refunds are covered by our Refund Policy.
8. Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails we will email you and Stripe will retry. If payment is not fixed within the grace period, your account returns to the Free plan. Your notes are not deleted because a payment failed.
9. Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to store or share content that is illegal, to attack or overload the service, to get around usage limits or billing, or to access another person's account or data. We may suspend accounts that do.
10. Export and deletion
You can export your notes at any time and you can delete your account from the app or the API. See the Privacy Policy for what happens to your data.
11. Availability and changes
We work to keep the service available and your data safe, but the service is provided “as is”, without warranties, to the extent the law allows. We may change or discontinue features; if we discontinue the hosted service we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data.
12. Liability
To the extent the law allows, Hasna Inc. is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.
13. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If a change is material we will notify you by email or in the app before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that means you accept the new terms.
